Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Economics

The Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Economics is a multidisciplinary undergraduate programme designed to provide students with a strong foundation in economic theory, public policy, banking, finance, development studies, and quantitative analysis. The programme equips learners with the analytical and critical thinking skills necessary to understand contemporary economic challenges and contribute effectively to policy formulation and decision-making processes.

The curriculum covers key areas such as Microeconomics, Macroeconomics, History of Economic Thought, Money and Banking, Public Finance, Economic Growth and Development, Environmental Economics, International Economics, Agricultural Economics, and the Indian Economy. Students also gain exposure to economic research, data interpretation, and project-based learning through dissertation and research-oriented components.

Aligned with the National Education Policy (NEP 2020) and Choice Based Credit System (CBCS), the programme promotes flexibility, multidisciplinary learning, and academic progression into honours, research, and postgraduate studies. Eligibility for Admission

  • Candidates must have successfully passed the 10+2 (Intermediate) examination or an equivalent qualification from a recognized Board.
  • Students from Arts, Commerce, Science, or any other recognized stream are eligible to apply for admission.
  • Applicants with an interest in Economics, Banking, Finance, Public Policy, Development Studies, Statistics, and Social Sciences are encouraged to pursue this programme.
  • Admission shall be granted according to the rules and regulations prescribed by Maharaja Suhel Dev State University and the Government from time to time.
