Smt. Indira Gandhi PG College functions as an affiliated college under a recognized state university framework, ensuring compliance with prescribed academic standards, examination systems, and regulatory requirements.
At the time of its establishment in 2005, the college was affiliated to Veer Bahadur Singh Purvanchal University, Jaunpur. The affiliation remained in force for several academic years during which the institution followed the academic, examination, and administrative regulations prescribed by the University.
Subsequently, following a Government of Uttar Pradesh notification and jurisdictional reorganization, the territorial area of the college came under the newly constituted Maharaja Suhel Dev State University. Accordingly, from the academic session 2023 onwards, the affiliation was formally transferred to the University.
