The Research & Development Cell (RDC) of Smt. Indira Gandhi PG College was established in 2024 to promote a structured and sustainable research culture among faculty members and students. The Cell serves as the institutional mechanism for planning, coordinating, monitoring, and documenting research activities across various academic disciplines.
Operating in alignment with the Institutional Development Plan (IDP 2024–2029), the RDC supports research initiatives that contribute to academic excellence, local relevance, ethical scholarship, innovation, and societal engagement. The Cell works in close coordination with academic departments and institutional committees to facilitate quality-driven research outcomes and strengthen the institution's research ecosystem.

The Research & Development Cell (RDC) is committed to creating a vibrant research ecosystem that encourages innovation, scholarly inquiry, and knowledge creation for academic and societal development.
Promote faculty and student engagement in research projects, surveys, case studies, and action research activities.
Identify and strengthen institutional research thrust areas aligned with academic programmes and local community needs.
Facilitate quality publications, conference participation, and effective dissemination of research outcomes.
Organize research methodology workshops, training programmes, and capacity-building activities for researchers.
Encourage academic, industry, and community collaborations for multidisciplinary and socially relevant research.
Ensure ethical compliance, transparency, integrity, and systematic documentation of all research outputs.
The Research & Development Cell Committee provides leadership, guidance, and support for planning, implementing, and monitoring research activities within the institution.
