B.Sc. Microbiology - Overview

The Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Microbiology is a comprehensive undergraduate programme designed to provide students with a strong foundation in the study of microorganisms and their applications in health, agriculture, industry, and the environment. The programme combines theoretical knowledge with extensive laboratory training to help students understand microbial diversity, microbial physiology, genetics, immunology, biochemistry, food microbiology, and industrial microbiology.

Students gain practical experience in microbial techniques, culturing methods, sterilization procedures, molecular biology tools, and microbiological analysis. The curriculum also explores the role of microorganisms in environmental management, biotechnology, disease control, food production, and sustainable development.

The programme prepares graduates for careers in research laboratories, biotechnology companies, pharmaceutical industries, food processing sectors, environmental organizations, healthcare institutions, quality control laboratories, and higher studies in Microbiology, Biotechnology, Molecular Biology, and related life science disciplines.
