Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Drawing & Painting

The Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Drawing & Painting provides students with a comprehensive understanding of Indian art, painting, sculpture and architecture from prehistoric times to the modern era. The programme explores major artistic traditions, regional painting styles, renowned artists, aesthetic principles and cultural heritage while developing creativity, artistic appreciation, visual analysis and practical understanding of fine arts.

Eligibility Criteria

Admission Requirements

Candidates seeking admission to the Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Drawing & Painting must fulfill the eligibility requirements prescribed by the college and affiliating university.

Minimum Eligibility

✓ Candidates must have passed 10+2 or an equivalent examination from a recognized Board.
✓ Students from any stream (Arts, Science or Commerce) may apply, subject to university norms.
✓ Interest in drawing, painting and visual arts is desirable for successful participation in the programme.
✓ Admission shall be granted according to the rules and regulations of the affiliating university.
✓ Reservation and relaxation in eligibility, wherever applicable, shall be provided as per Government and University guidelines.

Programme Regulations

Attendance Requirements

Students must maintain the minimum attendance prescribed by the University.
Regular participation in studio work, practical sessions and academic activities is mandatory.
Attendance shortages may affect eligibility for examinations and assessments.

Assessment & Evaluation

Evaluation includes internal assessment, practical work and end-semester examinations.
Assignments, sketchbooks, presentations and creative projects may form part of continuous assessment.
Students must satisfy university examination requirements for successful completion of the programme.

Studio Discipline

Students are expected to maintain discipline and professionalism during practical classes.
Proper care of art materials, equipment and studio facilities must be ensured.
Creative work submitted for assessment must be original and prepared by the student.

Progression & Completion

Students must successfully complete all prescribed theory and practical requirements.
Promotion to higher semesters shall be governed by university regulations.
The degree will be awarded upon successful completion of all programme requirements.
